We use freight approved double lidded art boxes; engineered for archival shipping of ‘wet surface’ paintings. Painting is attached to a sturdy cradle and surface covered with archival Tyvek or Polypropylene. Painting is secured to box interior with double sided Velcro. Collar protects the painting surface in transit.
Large paintings are protected with wood collaring/archival wrap and custom wood crating. Please see shipping information for buyer cost.
All paintings are insured at full retail value when shipped; receipt and tracking number emailed/texted to client. It is solely upon the carrier if parcel is lost or damaged.
To minimize potential issues, we contract with UPS for all expedited services; small paintings are sent via USPS insured.
Your painting is ready to hang for a clean gallery look. If you prefer to frame your painting, a ‘floating frame’ is your best option. There are custom choices available — pictureframes.com is excellent for small, medium and large paintings. Blick.com is also a choice for custom ordered frames. We do custom framing on request, though you may expect delays with intermittent supply issues. Please be aware that a frame also adds size/weight + shipping & insurance costs. It is best to custom order a frame once you have received your painting.
Upon receipt, remove top lid from shipping box; gently pull velcro strips which extend from back of painting, slowly lifting painting from box. Once Velcro is removed, carefully remove the screws securing edge protectors to back of painting. Your painting is ready to hang.
Please be aware that acrylic paint can take several months to cure.
